DO i have to bleach my hair b4 making a pink streak?

I want to put a pink streak in my hair and right now my hair is a light brown or dirty blonde kinda like the color of my avatars hair and I am wonderin if ill have to bleach the area first or if i can just go about it, if i do have to bleach it how do i?

You have to bleach it or else the pink will really just tint the hair. And bleaching is pretty easy, all you have to do is buy a bleach kit (which you can find pretty easily at hot topic or similar stores) and pick out the sections you want to have pink. Apply the bleach (remember to follow the instructions!), wrap those sections in tinfoil, and leave for the recommended time for your natural hair color. Then when you dye your hair pink, it'll show up much brighter. NOTE: After bleaching your streak of hair, DO NOT apply the conditioner that came with the bleach kit. It will close of your hair to color and the pink won't take as well.

Hi there I'm a hair stylist. It would be best to bleach any areas you want pink first. Just watch what you use, as colours like "crazy colour" fade fast and need reapplied often. Also be careful if you have any naturally light areas as these may go pink. Hope this helps and please don't over bleach.x

You would have to bring your hair to a level 7. That is the lightest blonde. Then do your pink streaks. In order for you to put color on hair that lighter that your natural hair color, you have to first bring your hair up then color it to your desired shade. That's what we call a double process. just tell them that you will keep your grades up, and show it to them too. and it is in the fashion to get colored streaks at the inside of your hair and pull them out, and only like 1 or 2 big chunks.

And cos it is just one they shouldnt be that upset. i got mine done at my friends house ( from hot topic too) and at that point i didnt ask my mom.. but it didnt even show. and f you want it to show you have to bleach your hair first. and then apply it. they are not natural cause if they were they wouldnt just turn up..natural is when you born with it..something is causing this...if you have tried to die your hair one color ,with a store bought dye, while having hilites in your hair can turn parts pinkish or if the pool has clorhine, there are other things that can be causing this too

if you have bangs you should put the pink in the bangs. and then some random streaks everywhere else in your hair. I think that would look cute. Other wise. just get some thin streaks of pink. try to put in to put in 2 different shdes of pink. That would look good

So I had bleached highlights on my brown hair and they looked really great. But now i dyed them with a semi-temporary pink dye about less than a week ago. Is there anyway I can remove the pink color faster than waiting on time, or shampooing 100 times? thanks!!

Buy Suave clarifying shampoo. Wet your hair, apply the shampoo, lather, and wait 10-15 minutes before rinsing well. Condition VERY well afterward!! Cheap, clarifying shampoo will help the color break down faster.

Well, semi-temporary is actually semi-permanent. It'll last about 6-8 weeks and fade away. It's probably really pink too. That's because your natural color is brown and brown hair has natural red or gold undertones...yours are probably red so that's what pulls through easy. Then your highlighted. Wow! Hope you don't work in the corporate environment.

If you want it gone like yesterday the best you can do is use a brown color on it to tone down that pink but you have to make sure the color doesn't have a red base. You need something with an ash base. Green/blue base will cast out the red. The very best thing you can do is go to a professional, get it fixed and stop being a kitchenologist. There's chemistry in coloring hair it's not as simple as picking the color on the box/bottle the color you get depends on the color you have.
