well you want it to look good and bright...

You need to strip all color out of the strand of hair, bleach it very light where it's almost white...

Then dye it with the desired color.

It may not be the cheapest, but it will look good and that is what matters most. Good LUck.

The cheapest way would be to either buy a single pink hair extension somewhere like a beaty supply store would sell it or if you want to dye it use Manic Panic in Cotton Candy Pink. If your hair is blonde (or nearly blonde) you don't have to bleach the strand, but if not, use a bleaching dye like Clairol's Born Blonde (If your hair is dark colored, just plain blonde hair dye will probably just turn it orange and effect the shade of pink you get.) and bleach the strand as blonde as you can, then apply the Manic Panic.
