Would I have to use bleach on my dark brown hair to get pink streaks?

My hair is dark brown, and I was planning to put just a few pink streaks in it. I don't want anything too flashy, bright, or bold, so do I still have to use bleach or a pre lightener first?

You'll need to use some bleach unless you want very subtle highlights (pink). Don't let your hair process to white, you only need it to be a pale yellow.

If you wouldn't lighten your hair the color would be very faint. You might be able to see a slight difference if the light hits it right. If you do bleach your hair just don't leave it on very long. If you want to keep the color subtle yet noticeable, your hair should be a light brown/dark blonde.

Yes you would definately need to use a bleach to get that hot pink color, a high developer may really damage your hair.A friend of mine did the same exact thing to her hair, but really be careful with the maintianing it because bleach can damage the hair. You should have a professional do it as well...especially with a color like pink you dont want it to LOOK like you did it at home.
