Well, I think both piercings and your hair colour would be deemed unprofessional.

And when applying for a job, its important to look and act professional.

Just take out the barbel/ring and replace it with a retainer and dye the pink to a black or something more natural looking.

Then, you will have a better chance of getting hired.

In any company that deals directly with the public the staff represent the values of that company.

A lot of time and money is spent marketing the store and it is targeted to a demographic that best places the store in the market place.

If this is a Manchester, home wares type store then you are unlikely to meet the image they want to project ,or their target demographic

Your look is probably more attuned to a surf shop or music store may want your look as it is possibly they want to represent and identifies with their demographic.

I would say your chances are slim for the Homeware job, but then if they are stuck for staff and you are the only applicant .....no your chances are slim!.

Either try a field that is closer to your lifestyle choice or change your look.

BTW anyone who is telling you it is discrimination and to sue them is misled, you can only be discriminated against if your non hiring relates to race, religion, sexual leaning,pregnancy, age or physical disability , even then there can be some exclusions ( mainly physical) based on job requirements within certain guidelines, usually Occupational health and safety.
